Computer Technology

The Computer Systems Technology course teaches students the skills necessary for any of the multitude of IT fields available today. If you have an interest in Computer Security, Networking, Computer Forensics, Engineering and even the Medical Fields, all of them incorporate IT every day.
With the Project Running Start, students are able to earn 4 college credits through White Mountain Community College by completing this two-year program. Additional colleges in the region looking to accept individuals with an interest in the IT fields include:
The University of New Hampshire, University of Rhode Island, Norwich university, Rochester Institute of Technology, Dartmouth College, Cornell University, University of Maine, Bentley College, New Hampshire Technical Institute and Champlain College.
This program prepares students to enter a career in computer support as part of an Information Technology team. Studens will learn how to diagnose and solve computer problems, upgrade computer systems, properly install computer components, and maintain computers in a local or network environment.
Second year students will develop a better understanding of computer networking, network design, network administration and network troubleshooting. Students also gain on-the-job experience by acting as a service technician for the school’s computer network.

Students who successfully complete this two year course will have the skills and hands-on experience to confidently gain entry level positions within the field of IT, Networking, and Computer System Repair.
